1962 — today
The firm, year by year
Every entry below comes from the public record — Bar admissions, the corporate index, directory profiles and their dates. Where the record is unflattering or simply out of date, it is set down as it stands.
1958
Undergraduate degree
John M. Abramson takes a B.S. at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
1962
Called to the Florida Bar
Abramson graduates from the University of Florida College of Law and is admitted to The Florida Bar on 16 November 1962 as Bar number 330 — a three-digit number from an era when the Bar roll was a fraction of its present size.
1974–1975
The second partner qualifies
David Lawrence Magidson takes his J.D. at the University of Miami School of Law in 1974 and is admitted to The Florida Bar in 1975 as Bar number 193348.
1983
The firm is established in Homestead
Abramson & Magidson, P.A. is formed as a Florida professional association and opens on North Krome Avenue. Directory records put the establishment year at 1983 and the practice at two lawyers — the size it has kept ever since.
1983 onward
A South Dade practice
The work settles into what a Homestead office sees: collisions on the US-1 and Krome Avenue corridors, slip and fall claims, dog bites, first-party property losses after each storm season, and cruise passenger and crew claims out of the South Florida ports.
1992
Andrew
Hurricane Andrew makes landfall south of Homestead. First-party property work — windstorm and roof losses, denials, underpayments and scope disputes with carriers — becomes a permanent part of the practice rather than an occasional file.
2009
Three attorneys of record
The firm's FindLaw profile — last updated in 2009 and never since — lists Rebecca Anne Magidson alongside John M. Abramson and David L. Magidson. Her current status with the firm is not established by any later record.
Later years
A second entity on Krome Avenue
Law Offices of John M. Abramson appears at 950 N. Krome Avenue, Suite 106 — a separate address from the firm's Suite 2A a block away, with its own telephone and fax numbers of record.
Present
The record moves to Broward
Abramson's Florida Bar county of record is now Broward, Circuit 17, with a mailing address in Weston rather than Homestead. His elected Bar status is Inactive — not eligible to practise law in Florida. His ten-year discipline history is clear. Magidson's directory address of record is 6619 S. Dixie Highway #334, Miami.
2025
Fifty years at the Bar
David L. Magidson appears on The Florida Bar's list of 50-Year Members and is honoured at the annual Senior Counselors luncheon. He remains a member in good standing with no finding of misconduct.
Today
Still on Krome Avenue
The office answers at 930 N. Krome Avenue, Suite 2A, Homestead, on (305) 358-4400. Sunbiz document number G36256. Until now the practice has never had a website of its own; this is the first one.
